Introducing....Sam's Angels - the Singapore Version...

Family,

And a good evening to you from across the globe after another GREAT DAY in the Lion City. It's been a hell of a week, and despite the technology debacles of the last hour (I mean SERIOUSLY - WHY CAN'T A BROTHER GET A MAS THAT ACTUALLY WORKS? I've got your @#$@#$@#$@# VPN client right here...), I have to say that it's been one of the best weeks of my life from a productivity standpoint. But honestly, as I don't want to get back into "it's late - feed me a pineapple" mode, let's focus instead on the highlight of last night - drinks at the Lantern!

So a bit of back story here. Sara Smith (far right) happens to be an old friend of Lovely Lisa Watkinson, one of our mates back in London. Lisa introduced us via email, and she was one of the 2 folks we met at P.S. Cafe at few weeks back (Lily, far left, was the other; the other gal is Katia, who's a mate of Lily's from London). We hadn't seen them in a bit, and so we decided to catch up last night for drinks. Why catch up on a Thursday, you ask? Well, largely because SARAH AND LILY'S TRAVEL SCHEDULES ARE MORE RIDICULOUS THAN OURS. You think Sammy the Bull and Muffin Puffin are crazy? Try this - Sarah has 2 weekends in the Sing between 1 January and 31 May. Now THAT is impressive. But I digress...

The featured spot of the evening was "The Lantern," which is the rooftop bar at the Fullerton Bay Hotel. It's actually on the list of "Top 10 things to do in Singapore in 24 hours," and I gotta tell ya, it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.

Simply put, it was just FABULOUS. The elevator doors open to the SWEETEST POOL EVER, and the Marina Bay Sands hotel looms before you. Then you are led past the pool (and some KILLER private hot tubs, for the record) into the bar area, which is open air and filled with chaise lounges, couches, beds, and even cabanas! Add in a great cocktail list, wonderfully chilled atmosphere, techno music on in the background, and views that simply CANNOT BE BEAT, and you've got a recipe for a GREAT evening. Granted, there was the one part where the 4 foot Asian gal with the Size double D's who was CLEARLY A HOOKER tried to hit on me, but let's just skip over that part, yeah?

The evening absolutely FLEW, and before we knew it midnight had passed without food. However, as I'd only had 2 cocktails vs. 10 beers with a certain Man City fan (yes, John Davies - THAT IS YOU), I had no trouble walking home (and didn't even puke on the metro - I've clearly turned over a new leaf). Team Taylor arrived home about 12:30, passing out about 1 with only an orange consumed between us (and I did 95% of that consumption).

The good news is that it's now 7 PM on a Friday, which means that IT'S THE WEEKEND, BABY!!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!! Can someone say Harry's Premium Lager? WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!!!

Okay, that's all the news that's fit to print. Chat tomorrow!

Love,

Sam and Jenny
